The stamps of the Peoples Republic of China are rare and valuable. Unfortunately they are also widely faked. Our advice to you is, before you spend another $ on these gems - BUY THIS BOOK!
Some words from the Introduction - According to the authors' experience of expertizing the genuine or the fake of the postal items, they introduced carefully the concrete methods of expertizing different postal items from setting, paper, secret mark, colour, gum and perforations, excellent in both figures and language.
Please be aware that the bulk of the book is in Chinese, with just a few introductory remarks in English. However, in its 445 pages the book details 163 issues with superb full colour enlargements of the identifying features, clearly marked as genuine or forgery. FIRST REPORT ON
IMPERIAL AIR MAIL SERVICES
The Terms of Reference of the Civil Aviation Advisory Board were: "To advise generally on the development of Civil Aviation and to report upon any specific point which may from time to time be referred to the Board by the Secretary of State for Air."The Secretary of State referred to the Advisory Board, as the first subject upon which he desired its recommendations, the question of the cost and practibility of an Imperial Air Mail Service.
In fact the main consideration of the Report is the airmail route to India. It therefore details considerations of the following sections of the route: Cairo-Baghdad Constantinople-Baghdad Baghdad-Karachi Cairo-Baghdad-Basra Basra-Karachi Karachi-Bombay London-Brussels-Constantinople London-Brindisi-Alexandria. This is a facsimile reprint of the original report.
